Bio
Israeli Soprano Noam Katz is currently based in Berlin, Germany. This coming season Noam will debut the role of Ännchen in Carl Maria von Weber’s Der Freischütz, as part of the ZionsessenZ concert series in Berlin.
Highlights from previous seasons include her performance as Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte with Opera Pannonica (Croatia); Fatime in Rameau’s Les Indes Galantes with Ensemble OrQuesta (England); Lucy in Menotti’s The Telephone with BC Graduate Productions (USA); Barbarina in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro with Opera Park Slope and New York Opera Theatre, La Fortuna in Monteverdi’s L'incoronazione di Poppea at the Savannah Voice Festival; Taumännchen in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel with the LidalNorth program at the Oslo Opera; Gilda in Verdi’s Rigoletto with New York Opera Theater and Juliette in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette with New York Opera Theater.
Other operatic roles include Emilie in Egon und Emilie (Ernst Toch), Adele in Die Fledermaus, The First Witch in Dido and Aeneas, La Virtù in L'incoronazione di Poppea, Giannetta in L’elisir d’amore, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Papagena in Die Zauberflöte, Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel, and Valentina in Later the Same Evening by John Musto
As part of her training, Noam has participated in international masterclasses such as ‘IVAI Tel Aviv’, ‘Voice Experience Milnes Voice Studio’ as part of the ‘Savannah Voice Festival’, ‘LidalNorth’ at the Oslo Opera and ‘The International Seminar for Strings, Voice and Chamber Music’ (Israel) with acclaimed musicians such as Olaf Bär, Michael Shell, Anna Skibinsky, Sherill Milnes, Elena Bashkirova, Dalia Schechter, Prof. Phillip Moll and Prof. Berthold Schmid. Noam was also a member of the BAROCK VOKAL Kolleg für Alte Musik an der Hochschule für Musik Mainz (2020), where she performed of music by Alessandro Scarlatti and Antonio Cesti, as well as art songs by Beethoven as part of a masterclass with the world renowned Baritone Olaf Bär.
Noam holds a Master of Music degree from the Brooklyn College Conservatory where she studied in the studio of Patricia McCaffery and a Bachelor of Music degree from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance where she studied in the studio of Efrat Ben Nun.
During her studies Noam was a recipient of the America Israel Cultural Foundation scholarships for the years 2014, 2015 and 2016. She is also a recipient of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance Scholarship for the years 2014-2015.
